While Dylan is on a journey, Beka is on the planet Verus, where
no lie remains undetected. She has to appear in court as a character
witness for her old friend and mentor Able Ladrone (Chris Potter).
Able is charged with having stolen genetic technology When each
of Beka’s lies about Ables character and past is detected,
she and Tyr free Able from prison and take him to the Andromeda.
The remaining crew is all but thrilled about the turn of events
and yet while Beka defends her actions, Harper gets a secret DNA-sample
from Able. Beka, who alwaysfelt more then friendship towards Able,
leaves, with Able in tow, the Andromeda on board of the Maru so
not to endager the ship or desert Able. There Able finally tells
her about the gene he has stolen from Technocorp. It’s about
a drug, which can be both used as a cure or a weapon. Able, who
was abused by Technocorp as a guinea pig at one of his former imprisonments,
now has the knowledge of this drug in his memory and the gene itself
is implanted in his body. Only his death can give it back to Technocorp.
Technocorp makes every effort to get its’ hands on Able they
have a shootout with the Maru and later with the Andromeda. Meanwhile,
with the help of the stolen DNA, Harper makes another all deciding
discovery about Able. Is he truely the man he claims to be or someone
else.
