Heartland - Season 1

1.07 Come What May

The pregnant mare Melody is taken to Heartland. Mallory gives Ty riding lessons. Ben participates in a horse show and refuses to talk to his aunt Lisa, who wants him to extend his stay at Heartland.

In the meantime Jack and Ty participate in a cattle roundup where Tim of all people is foreman. This constellation obviously creates tensions between him and Jack, especially when Ty and Jack go astray and Tim comes to their rescue. Jack is too proud to accept Tim's help, which results in a fight between them.

During the men's absence Mallory gives birth to a sturdy foal, assisted by Amy, Lou and the elderly Mrs. Bell. After their return, Ty tells Amy about the argument between Jack and Tim. Amy comes to realise that it's up to her to make the first step towards Tim, but she still has scruples.

 

1.08 Out Of the Darkness

Amy tries to help a famous race horse, which has been hurt during a stable fire, and its distressed trainer. The bodily wounds have healed, but the animal still suffers from psychological strain. Amy doesn't make progress, and so she calls on the horse's trainer, who feels responsible for the disaster. While Amy helps him to deal with the past events, she finally is able to face her so far repressed emotions about her mother's death. At last, she feels ready to meet Tim.

In the meantime, Jack's feelings towards Lisa intensify, and Mallory gives unrequested advice.

 

1.09 Ghost From the Past

Elderly Mrs. Bell has a heart attack, and Amy takes in her traumatised pony Sugarfoot. Surprisingly, Lou feels attracted to the pony.

Ty's old girlfriend Kerry-Ann shows up at Heartland, causing trouble. She has accepted a job at Briar Ridge, and when Ashley claims that Ty has stolen her chain Ty must convict Kerry-Ann to prove his own innocence.
