Silk Stalkings - Season 1

6.01 Runaway Strip

Prior to their volatile seven month marriage Sgt.'s Tom Ryan and Cassandra St. John were one of Palm Beach’s finest homicide teams. Now, divorced as well as estranged, circumstance finds them each in need of a partner, and Captain Harry Lipschitz jumps at the chance to reteam his two best detectives… even if he has to force them.

Left with no other choice,Tom begrudgingly agrees to work with his ex-wife for no more than 2 weeks until his sick partner returns. When he receives a phone tip eluding that a Navy jet crash that morning was actually murder, the two have their first case and suspect: R.I.O Randy Rawlings, who served under the victim Caroly Mayfield. Since the accident took place in their jursisdiction, the Palm Beach detectives rush to investigate their latest homicide, but it seems the military has other plans.

As soon as they arrive at the crash site Navy intelligence officers Ken Baines and Barbara Ferry attempt to forestall their investigation at every turn. But it isn’t in Tom’s or Cassy’s nature to give up that easily, so despite ‘cease and desist’ orders from their superior they start their own investigation. The dangerous situation turns deadly when Tom tries to thwart Rawlings escape and finds himself staring down the barrel of his suspect’s gun.

6.02 Compulsion

Stewart Defore and Lance Crenshaw were top-end fashion designers, and part owners of the Rivers Crossing bathing suit company. Now it appears the wealthy gay couple was involved in a violent domestic dispute that ended in murder/suicide. But Tom and Cassy’s investigation leads them to believe both men were actually murdered by a third party. Their primary suspect is Rikki Rivers- co-owner of the lucrative business. Also under suspicion is Chance Reynolds, Rikki’s ex-husband, who recently signed over his 20% share in the company to the deceased.

During the course of his questioning, romance blossoms between Tom and Judith Millay, an employee and close friend of Stewart and Lance. It turns out Judith is even more fussy than Cassy, but having survived that battle before, Tom happily takes her obsessions in stride. When he discovers Cassy had his new love interest investigated, he’s angered by his partner’s betrayal, but what he reads in the report reveals the greatest deceit comes from Judith.

6.03 Divorce, Palm Beach Style

Palm Beachs newest homicide victim is Mickey Meyerson, a prominent local attorney. He is found murdered in a parking garage, apparently by a professional. Specializing in high dollar divorce settlements, the victim had no shortage of enemies, leaving Tom and Cassy with a long list of suspects.

The Captain, a non-believer in “hunches”, orders them to stick with the list of Meyerson's clients. Judge Drell, who coincidentally presided over the detectives’ divorce, tried most of Meyerson's cases, as well. When Tom discovers that fact, he naturally assumes the judge is corrupt.

Their investigation eventually leads them to Sammy Porcaro, "one of Nicky the Greek's goons". Is it another coincidence that Nicky the Greek also has to appear in front of Judge Drell? Meanwhile Cassy tries to figure out why Tom has so many secret phone calls.
