Silk Stakings - Season 1

6.04. When She Was Bad

Sgt.'s Ryan and St. John investigate the murder of a farm equipment salesman from Michigan. Cause of death was strangulation as the detectives soon realize, and it would appear the perp is a prostitute. The killer’s weapon of choice is an expensive silk stocking with the monogram B.G.C.; available, as it turns out, by custom order only from an elite lingerie shop.

Finger prints, found on a glass in the hotel room belong to Maryann Sterling, an important member of Palm Beach society. Thorough detective works leads Tom and Cassy to uncover the meaning of B.G.C.: Biscayne Garden Club. A former member, the ex-Mrs. Morton <played by guest star Stella Stevens>, has her own definition: the Bad Girls Club--an elite society for high-profile wives. All the while the detectives have to fight against DA Gloria Sherwood who has her own reasons for wanting to bury the case. And Tom’s desperate attempts to organize a dancer for his buddy’s bachelor party seem to be unsuccessful until Cassy comes up with a fitting solution.

6.05 Pre-Judgement Day

The Palm Beach detectives are assigned to investigate the car bombing of Robin Chandler, wife of adult video producer Chick Chandler. Tom and Cassy find out the Chandler's were trying to buy out Stephanie Turlanian's family business, and apparently Stephanie had threatened Chick's life over it. Ms. Turlanian, on the other hand, suggests they investigate Artie Sayles, the president of the printers' union, for the bombing.

In turn, Mr. Sayles points the finger right back at Ms. Turlanian as the responsible party. Through it all, Cassy, who carries a great deal of prejudices toward Chandlerinsists he’s their prime suspect. But Tom’s still not convinced of Chick’s guilt; nor his own, for that matter, when it comes to taking the blame for his and Cassy’s failed marriage.

6.6 Loyalty

Amos is the son of DA Greg Alexander and mentally handicapped due to a sporting accident. When a young woman is found dead after a party, her boyfriend J.J who happens to be Amos’ best friend accuses him of her murder. It takes some time but Tom and Cassy discover Amos is being used as a scapegoat. Meanwhile, as Cassy clashes with the hard-headed DA as well as her nitpicking mother, Tom toys with the idea of leasing a BMW Z3 losing himself to a 007 fantasy until he’s forced to admit he can’t afford such a high-priced machine.

Stephen J. Cannell makes a cameo as the car salesman.
