1.05. Dearly Beloved

A $300.000 country club wedding is ruined by an errant lawn sprinkler. In the course of the investigation, Zoe, Dan and Sophia find out that it wasn't an accident. Not only do the parents of bride and groom have their reasons to forestall the marriage, the bride’s best friend and an ex-employee of the club also come under suspicion.

The deadbeat dad of Zoe's nieces and nephew returns after 7 years, but, to protect the children, Zoe refuses to let him see the kids until he goes through family counselling.

 

 

1.06. Dead Again

A man dies from a heart attack at an airport. The same man was supposed to have passed away years ago. Since Zoe is up for performance review, the Intimidator accompanies her on the investigation. Dan is once again confronted with his past when he has to interview the dead man’s former partner, who is currently in prison for embezzling. Dan suspects the man is innocent and helps to set him free.

 

1.07. The Cheese Stands Alone

A power outage in a shopping center causes Zoe to go undercover in a video dating service while Sophia smells a rat at the cheese shop. Meanwhile, Dan hits it off with a lovely landlord. Dan believes Zoe and Marcos are a couple; Marcos assumes Zoe going out with Dan and Zoe finds out that Marcos already found a replacement for her.

 

1.08. No Bull

Zoe and Dan head to farm country to investigate the death of a rancher’s prize bull. Sexual tension between them grows when staying an extra day means sharing the only available hotel room in town.
