1.09 Mimi's Assets

A fog machine explodes in a strip club. The resulting fire causes the death of one of the dancers. Zoe has a “hinkey feeling” about whether it really was an accident. . To investigate, she goes undercover as a bartender at the strip club while Dan mingles with the guests and the dancers. Zoe endangers herself when she comes too close to the solution.

The Intimidator’s position as unit supervisor is left vacant. Though Sophia insists that she isn’t interested in the position, she is frustrated when less capable investigators are asked to a job interview.

Watch the scene when Dan eats the chocobar or whatever it is. One time the bar is in his left, then in his right hand and a second later it is back in the left hand.

1.10 Spooked

The new owner of a house puts in a claim to cover vandalism, which her son purports to be the work of ghosts. Due to evidence Zoe and Dan’s first suspect is the woman’s brother. Following further leads, they discover that, decades ago, a boy disappeared near the house. During a new inspection, the aim of which is to find a passage to the underground railroad, Zoe accidentally discovers a secret room with a skeleton in it. While trying to get to her, Dan, is knocked out. Suddenly, Zoe is alone with a murderer.

 

1.11 Sand Trap

Due to pestisides in the mud, guests of a spa get sick. The culprit seems to be found when the supplier of the healing earth apparently commits suicide.
His widow can’t imagine that her husband was responsible. On her own time, Zoe investigates and finds clues about the man’s innocence. Dan and Zoe convince a reluctant Sophia to revive the case. Dan has to work undercover in the spa while Zoe poses as a guest.

 

 

1.12 Black Sheep

Zoe and Dan must investigate the circumstances of a large auto insurance claim. They must decide whether or not the man who crashed into his house almost hitting his wife, intentionally caused the accident. Dan thinks that the couple may be trying to pull an insurance scam while Zoe thinks that the man may be trying to kill his wife. Later they find out that the man seems to have diabetes, but refuses treatment because of his religious beliefs. As the investigation unfolds, Dan and Zoe find that they actually have a "black widow" on their hands.
