2.01 A Felony for Melanie

Melanie St. Jones is a friend of Zoe from her days in Las Vegas. Recently released from prison she is now suspected to have killed her husband. Zoe can’t believe that her friend is guilty and since it’s a case for the insurance company, she and Dan start to investigate. It doesn’t last long and they find a new suspect in Melanie’s son Jack, who had an affair with his stepfather. Confronted, Jack panicks and, followed by Dan, runs into a car. It’s a mere chance that the investigators find out the truth.

Because they are in the red the insurance company sold the investigation departement. New owner and supervisor of Zoe and Dan is M. Pearl McGuire (Loretta Devine), a loud and flamboyant ex-cop.

 

 

2.02 Dr. Sidney Loses a Kidney

Zoe and Dan chase an insurance fraudster when they get involved in the theft of a kidney. On the run the thief also steals Zoe’s car with Hannah’s Science project in it. The partners have only 36 hours to get the kidney back, otherwise it can’t be tranplanted anymore. The case is more complicated than it appears in the beginning, not only are the hospitalstaff suspected, but also the patients. And to make matters worse Dan’s Jaguar ends in the junk press.

 

 

2.03 Sniper Shot, Intern Hot

M's ex-husband, Graham is running for Mayor. While at at rally a sniper misses Graham. Zoe and Dan try to find anwers on who would want to kill Graham.
